Sometimes it just takes time. I don't know if you saw my oops thread back in November. We weren't going to get another dog when Zak died, he was incredibly special. Then we saw a lookalike and brought him and his brother home the next day, having said on here that we weren't getting another. ?

I think if I mentioned a new horse, he'd leave! We're always going to have dogs, tho.

I may have foisted many dogs on OH but I am sure if I wanted another horse I’d be out on my ear! ?

OP you could maybe offer to foster for GR or Labrador rescue? It’s not such a commitment, even if you then move the dog on every one is helped enormously.

I saw the other day that Dogs Trust need Foster placements for dogs that aren't suited to kennels. They prefer foster homes without a resident pet, apparently. They have more dogs than ever because if the current crisis.
