I have had a few falls recently while competing and it has really knocked my confidence to the point that I have been quite nervous and scared about going XC at the same place where I have had a fall before. My horse has not been affected at all and is still more than willing to jump but he can sence that I am worried. Can anyone advise me of what to do to help me over come this new fear? I have never suffered from nerves in such a way before.

Thanks!

I went through the same as you. I had some bad falls from Arch only a month or two after I bought him and totally lost my bottle after that. Its taken nearly two years for me to get back to the rider I used to be. All I can say is, it just takes time, but youve got to wont it enough. Good luck and stick at it and remember to keep us posted.

Thank you! The more good rounds I have the better I seam to be getting but then I have a nervous day and it all goes to pot again. My horse (Cruise) is looking after me though! they are so good to us.

My daughter had a masive loss of confidence following a nasty fall.....legs numb....couldn't move...paramedics etc. Fortunately no lasting damage but confidence was severely knocked. It has taken a while to get that back, a great trainer has really helped & now she is jumping far better than she ever was before & her confidence is soaring. Just stick with it & your confidence will grow with every time you ride. If you have any issues don't be afraid to use a good trainer, they can really help. Good Luck
