Lack of Horse Sense - this is how horses get neglected. :(

'Excuse me, Shilasdair, will you look at my horse, I think he's lost a shoe, but I don't know how to tell?'

And
'Excuse me, Shilasdair, why is he not eating his hay?'
Answer - because it's straw.

As stupid as these questions are at least they asked, maybe they might be more likey (sp) to ask if they encounter a more serious problem that you can advise them in, ultimately helping the horses welfare. I suppose if they didn't ask things could be alot worse.

When I first moved to my yard there was already a livery there. She honestly thought her pony would not get laminitis if he was out on lush grass all day and in the stable at night with NOTHING to eat as it balanced out the grass!!!! She was so sincere!!!

For many years I was the starter at the BHS Fun Rockbourne Ride and the tack tales I could tell you. One of the worst has to be the lady with the reins attached to the cheekpiece part of a Kimblewick bit.....

There there was a girl who bought a new saddle for her pony ..... from a car boot sale.

Oh and the people who bought a new saddle for their pony, but because he walked and trotted faster they didn't like it and put him back in his old one - despite the saddler telling them that it hopelessly didn't fit and hurt him.
