My mare is a fantastic jumper, and used to never touch a pole. But I have moved up in the height I am jumping and she now has ZERO respect for anything under 1 metre. Once you get up to 1.05 to 1.10m you can feel her switch on and really tuck up her legs over the fence, and she loves it. But anything lower than 1m and even though I get her moving in front of my leg, and get a nice stride, she may or may not chose to lift her legs no matter how well I do my part. (she jumped beautifully over 1.20 today - really tucked, having knocked 90cm twice 5 mins earlier)
She would never refuse anything, it's only her knocking that is frustrating. I never jump more than twice per week. She just seems utterly bored if the fence isn't "up to her standards" or something.
Any ideas on how to get her attention? Is my mare becoming a fence snob?
