Ladder Reins??

My 9yr old niece has been diagnosed with arthritis, making her grip on reins difficult. Even maintaining a slight contact can be sore for her

. Somebody had mentioned ladder reins, which I have never heard of - was thinking maybe another name for lace reins? Has anyone any got any idea about these reins & whether they would help..?

Not sure where to get them from but a friend used to use them years ago - he was missing fingers on one hand so used to just loop his thumb through they're basically a leather rein with about 1/2 doz or so loops down the bit that would usually be rubber. He was pretty successful using them so for him they definitely worked

I think they would probably help as they give you a bit more of a chance to hold on but as ever it's hard to tell without her trying them.
