Lakota Salts for colic prone horses?

Ive never known anyone to feed it to a colic prone horse and cant see that it would be beneficial unless the colic was induced by a very specific mineral deficiency. The only result Ive known from it is stinky poo!

Lakota Salts are Glauber salts from a natural source to aid gut action.

I feed these salts or the equivalent from Roger Hatch (Trinity Consultants) and have done for years.

I have never had a horse have any symptoms of Colic. They keep the gut working properly.

It comes from the Lakota plains, and the horses who live there apparently never colic, ever. The research which has been done to find out why, has concluded that it is due to the salts that are in this area of the world, which these horses consume when they eat.

Well that is the theory. A lady on our yard used to feed it to her old mare, and she said as soon as she introduced it her mare didn't have any further colic episodes.

I only know of the one person who's ever fed it, which is why I'm asking here for any other people’s views, before I try and find a stockist and give it a go.
