My horse was completly sound before being shod 2 weeks ago. The following morning she was on 3 legs and couldn't put any weight on her off fore. Farrier came back a couple of days later and said he was sorry but looked like he had put nails in slightly high. Removed a couple of nails and said it should settle down in a couple of days. I was in no rush to ride so left her for a couple more days then she became sound in walk and also in trot on straight lines. Took her in the school today and she is fine walk, trotting in straight lines but lame on turning circles. My friend was down the yard at time and said see if she would work through it and after a while she did seem slightly better. Fine on walking home not lame at all.
Has anyone had this before and how long before it settles down. She seems very happy in herself apart from putting weight on it when turning.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

My horse went lame after shoeing its not very noticeable but i could feel it, she doesnt stand very when being shod
she pulled her shoulder somehow so i get the physio out then she seemed fine!!
i would get a physio just to double check, there is a good chance it will be in the shoulder.

let me know how you get on

regards

Had the same problem with my ned- tunred out to be corns- might be worth reading up on internet. I would ask your farrier to come out and look again?

Well farrier out took shoe off and had a dig around with no obvious signs of abcess or anything. Going to poultice for a few days and see what happens but if I am very honest she seems alot perkier now shoe off so am hedging on the shoe was put on too tight. Will update in a couple of days.
