When I bought my mare in from the field last Friday evening she was hopping lame, literally on three legs. Hardly able to bear weight on her near hind. No cuts, swelling or heat to the leg, very slight heat on one sure of her hoof. My farrier came and took the shoe off on Saturday morning and had a good look around for an abcess but couldn’t find anything and she wasn’t sensitive with pincers. I kept here stabled and polticed it just in case and by Sunday evening she seemed sound. Nothin had come out in the poltice. I turned her out yesterday after three days box rest. When I trotted her up on the road tonight she seemed ok in a straight line but slightly lame when I turned her in a circle. I have no idea what she may have done. Also not sure when to start riding her again.
