Lame horse - advise?

Last 3 days, when riding my horse, at the first 10 minutes, he felt lame on his left front leg. But after the 10 minutes he was ok. However when I let him loose in the arena, I could see that he was knottting his head when his left front leg touched the ground. I dont know whats wrong with him. I am giving him 4 days off but until now he doesnt seem any better, although he looks happy. Any advice / suggestions?

Diagnosing lameness is never easy, especially if there isn't any swelling, heat or pain when palpitating the leg. Has he just been shod ? , has there been a change in ground conditions ?

Thank you for your reply. There were no changes of the surface and he was not shot recently. There is no heat or swelling. I have been told by the owner of my farm that his back is sore from exercise, and that affects his legs. Do you think it could be that?

Call your vet out, it could be a million things (or nothing, but you won't know unless you get a vet to see him).
