Bought horses in last Thursday night as had the Vet coming next day, so Friday morning I was mucking out and went to get little coloured horse out, she was really stiff on her back end, very reluctant to turn with her back end, but was happy to stand with one of my others and scratch over the door, when I gave her a brush she seemed tender around her offside pelvis/quarters area, so when the vet came I mentioned this, her words when I showed her the horse were "Oh she is pre-laminitic, box rest her and give her bute for 3 days", well you could have knocked me down with a feather, that was the last thing I thought. Anyway treated her like a laminitic, but yesterday we had some workmen working at the yard so she had to go out for a couple of hours, well she walked out of her stable stiff in her back legs, but happy to walk on the stones, trotted off up the field, a little short, again back end, but then had a canter and was cantering on three legs, holding her offside one up like a dog, so I walked up and tried to catch her, but the little madam wouldn't have it, anyway though I would leave her for 20 mins and she if I could get near her then, but stood and watched her, she had a roll, got up and pushed off with both back legs and was sound, she came in last night after 4 hours out sound as a pound and this morning she is sound and has not had any bute for the last 24 hours. Have the physio booked for 4 weeks time anyway, but she is coming to look at a horse next week and said would have a quick look at Millie......... The field that she came out of is very rutted and had a natural spring running across it, my initial thoughts are that she has twisted something or tweeked herself, not Laminitus. What do you folks think......

Yes we were back on track but now she has pushed a thoroughpin out on the other hock - waiting for the vet to call me back
