Dont know if any of you can remember my post back at the beginning of last month - my horse went very lame and wanted some advice.
Since then had vet out, gave bute and antibiotics didnt examine foot, did a flexion test and said will be fine, as it happens horse is fine and being ridden but had farrier out today and in taking off shoe revealed fungal infection under the shoe, luckily i treated foot for puss while back coz it stank which he said helped get it out but basically (luckily) has healed alone
is it bad that the vet didnt even suggest having shoe off or noticing this?

In the words of my farrier "if theres no obvious cuts or swelling always call the farrier" and I have to say every time any of mine have been lame its been to do with feet, maybe I have just been very lucky !
