Had decided to take my boy out home to my parents for the summer so I can hack more to get him going. Went and got horsebox, had my friend and sister there to help load, as I didnt want him to be pressured into horsebox - he hasn't travelled much. Anyway, had jeep full of tack rugs etc all ready to go. went and caught spirit from the field, and he was hobling on 3 legs. Thought it was a drop, as no heat in leg, so loaded him anyway, although, I didnt want to, as it would be easier to look after him here. Anyway, he was so good to load, brought him home and called the farrier. Farrier was due last night but cancelled til this morning. Not a drop, so rang the vet, who was there in 20mins, bless her!! She thinks it's an infection from a cut that has healed up, but his leg is now like a baloon, and heat from hock to fetlock. Anti-biotics and painkillers, and she's coming back tomorrow. She commented that he was so well behaved, she didn't believe my sister that he was only 4. Hope my poor boy gets better soon, so we can finally get going together!!!!
