Hey, Im just wondering if any of you could offer me some advise
WEDNESDAY LAST WEEK - claude got up from lying flat out in the field oddly leaving his back leg behind. Looked very uncomfortable and very lame on front near leg and reluctant to walk. In the evening checked him over, no heat anywhere no obvious swellings. He was sound in walk but reluctant to trot up in hand.
THURSDAY EVE - Sound in walk, got him trotting up in hand showing lame ness on the off hind leg???? Sound at the front! In the field mooching around a little slower than usual
FRIDAY/SATURDAY - Much better in the field, trotting up for his feed and being the boss again! Trotted up in hand, better but still lame on off hind
THIS MORNING - he was laying down flat again, got up ok but then could hardly walk again! Lame on near front, within 10 mins was pretty much sound?
Claude is 14 years old, cob 15.2hh. Not over weight, worked 4-5 times a week. Broken very young at 2 as far as we are aware. Back checked 3 weeks ago, pelvis was out but this was corrected, teeth checked 2 weeks ago and feet trimmed 2 weeks ago. He is a little footy over loose stones but has been barefoot for 2 years now. Never been sick or sorry....
I have the vet coming this week but just wanted to know if you had experienced something like this before. Sorry for any spelling mistakes Im at work and rushing before people notice me typing
