Hi,

So about 3 weeks ago horse was severely lame when I went to the field managed to get him in and vet checked, suspected an abcess. He was pretty much stabled for two weeks as he was so lame wasn't hardly weight bearing at all, vet came to xray at week 2 and the abcess had started to drain. Kept him dry poulticed and limited turnout in day and in at night for 5 days then farrier came and put shoes on. Went out in field like a loon and loads better in himself. Rode put today and he felt the best he's ever felt, was walking out lovely happy in himself felt really good. Had a very short trot and boom lame in trot! But on the opposite front to the one that had the abcess. I'm thinking maybe he's pulled a muscle or he's just a little sore on that leg due to having been so weight bearing on it whilst he had the abcess. Anyone had anything similar. I will be calling vet for advice first thing. Thanks

It could be anything really! Is there any signs of swelling or heat anywhere on the leg/ foot?

Hopefully the vet will be able to narrow down exactly where the problem is. It's so frustrating when you just solve one issue and they decide to throw a new one at you!

In himself he's absolutely fine, and as I said in walk he's the best he's ever been just in trot. He didn't feel off in trot tho he felt fine it was only the head nodding which gave it away.
I'm praying it's not much and hoping the vet can narrow it down, just feels like one thing after another atm.
