Hi all, first post in this section:)

Our 14.2hh connemara went lame yesterday on his front offside leg, no heat, swelling or cuts of any sort yesterday or today.
When cleaning his foot for a better look came upon a white mark which I hadn't noticed before, any ideas on what it could be and could it be linked to his lameness?

He had split that hoof last week and the blacksmith sorted his foot out, the only other thing I can think of is something got up in the hoof when he split it and he has an abscess coming, again any ideas?

Thanks:)

if he is still lame i would suggest you phone your vet and/or your farrier. from the pic it could be bruising, but the old saying NO FOOT NO HORSE runs true.

Thanks for your reply:)
Farrier is coming out after the weekend and then we would call the vet if needed, just wondered if anybody could shed any light on the mark?

Update, had the farrier look at Bob but he couldn't find anything, Bob was improving each day so put it down to treading on a stone. We were on holiday last week so he had the week off left in very capable hands and we hoped with the week off he would be sound.
Came back and trotted him up sound, all good we thought, however once ridden back lame again. We are now thinking it could be back related as he is very tight behind so we have a fun week of vets and back person ahead of us !!
