I wanted to provide an update. Our senior practice vet has been out today for a full assessment of the little guy. We took him to the local car park where there is some level ground for trot up etc.
After a lengthy chat and various prodding and poking the vet has declared him slightly lame in his off hind and sensitive to hoof testers on both hinds. This is due to the WLD lingering slightly higher up in the hoof wall. He has recommended that the farrier puts a full set of shoes on and we see if it helps. He remarked that the pony is absolutely poles apart from the dog lame chap he saw just last year snd is thrilled with his progress. He says we are 90% there now, just hoof growth and farrier work over the next couple of months and we will have him right.
We talked about x-rays and nerve blocks etc but he says he sees nothing that would make him feel thesecare necessary.
It's worth mentioning that the ponybis several weeks on from the initial videos I posted and has settled into the shoes, if that makes sense.
