My pony has been slightly lame since last Sunday (just over a week). She’s on box rest with a bit of individual turnout (our yard has a sick paddock for this). She looks fine in walk and is now about 1 or 2 tenths lame in trot. I’ve had her almost 18 months and she’s never been lame. She’s 6 years old. She came in lame after some people set fireworks off in the field next to her turnout field. Vet saw her last week and wasn’t worried (put her on a diet as she is overweight). Said probably be ok in a week or two. Does anyone have some positive stories to stop me worrying please?

My pony did similar after a storm. She had a gallop around in the wet and must have tweaked something. She was fine in trot and it was only when I rode and asked for trot I could feel the lameness. She had a week off and was much better after a week, all lameness gone by 10 days.

Thanks for the replies. Anyone else have positive stories? X
Without a diagnosis for the lameness it is difficult to give positive feedback or negative feedback. If you were to say the pony has damaged its x,y,z someone would comment on their journey through the type of injury for instance.

Fingers crossed your pony will soon be sound and you can have lots of fun again.
