Has anyone experienced sacro-illiac problems causing fore leg lameness? if so, please let me know. The back man is coming soon but it would be nice to have a bit more information before he comes.
Many thanks.

Hi Lou,
Pony not badly lame but not sound. Vet came out, no swelling, no heat, no lumps or bumps. No 'laminitic' stances or navicular gait.
Farrier checked feet, nothing found.
4 year old pony not doing a lot so vet said to turn out for a while. Turned out.
Muscles all checked, tight hamstring worked on. 'Knot' in neck worked on.
Pony still not any better.
Spoke to back-man and went through ponys history, symptoms and behaviour and he says it may be sacro-illiac.
I want to try the back-man before going down scans, nerve blocks and xrays route.
Now wondering if anyone has experienced this 'shortness' in stride on a fore leg with a sacro-illiac problem.

you see.. in my eyes, in order for a sacro-illiac problem to be affecting a fore leg, it would have to either be a tramped nerve or compensatory pain. lets be honest, the sarc-illiac joint is a long way from the for leg!

you see it could be a small pull to a ligament or tendon which is making him short.. as sometime with this they are not noticeably lame.. sounds like he needs a dose of doctor time.

I hope you have some luck sound slike you need it.

Lou x
