My friend has a 21 year old highland, that has never had any lameness problems, for the last 2 months, she has been lame 3 times, this pony does nothing strenious, it can be just walking along on smooth tarmac, when she will go foot sore, like she has trod on a stone, it can last for a couple of hours or for a couple of days, there is no obvious heat/swelling/pulses, could it be the start of something developing, do you think it could be in the shoulder any ideas are very welcome so i can pass it on to her.

given her age she could be going thru some arthritic changes which some supplements might help if you think the shoulder may be wrong if she has been walking funny so like a secondary problem perhaps try some glucosamine or similar msm is very good i hear xx

She hasnt had the vet out because it goes away, but because it is happening more lately, she is going to see if it carries on happening again then get the vet out {she is insured}.
