Hi, my horse has been slightly lame for about 6 days now. She has been rested since Firdya (so for six days today) and has literally stood in the field munching. She's not improved but not gotten any worse either.
There is no heat, swelling etc and from trotting up she looks as if she is sore on both front feet. Have squeezed heels, inspected feet, nothing suspcious looking at all. Other than the fact that last week a hole about the size of a 5p appeared on the top inside edge of her right foot. This has now closed up to a crack and there does not appear at least to be any infection.
She has a couple of splints on right front and a small wingall on the other (i am mega careful with the ground but unfortuantely fighter jets went over our yard a couple of weeks ago and the horses went beserk on the hard ground and think the damage was done then)
So, could it still be the splints / wingall making her sore? They would have formed about 1 week ago at the earliest (probably more like 2-3 weeks ago)
I am dreading that the vet is going to it's navicular. She is definately resting her front right (the one with the splints) when standing....
Any ideas??
