Lameness with unknown cause

I've been browsing the forum a bit more and I keep hearing about Rockley Farm rehab, is this something that my boy might be a good candidate for? I may reach out to them and ask. Obviously not ideal to bring him to the UK, but if it really works...

Ok so I thought the heel bulbs might be a lot worse (they can be!). The ‘hoof stuff’ I mention is a zinc oxide/cotton wool/honey mix (uk company) and it’s really good at staying wedged in gaps like your sulcus (it also tastes nice when you lick your fingers sometime later forgetting you put it on 😅), you could definitely make something similar yourself- an ex member on here Bruce always used to say about flossing the tight sulcus with cotton wool and zinc oxide/sudocreme and that horses often enjoyed it!

I headed into it not knowing a lot but having been around this forum enough to know that if I got a navicular diagnosis I’d take shoes off.
As that wasn’t the diagnosis I didn’t but did know I’d only give the remedial shoeing a certain amount of time to work - externally the hooves looked great but I think it hadn’t changed much internally where it mattered
Remedial Shoes went on end of November, off end of march I think - and his frogs were rubbish because he’d had bar shoes on and despite my best efforts they disintegrated underneath. I took it slowly as figured at his age one decent chance. 5 min walking on road a day, upped by 5 min a week, at 6 weeks he went a bit sore (often happens as the hoof wakes up a bit) so we did our road walking in boots for a while, first canter September (had been waiting for some rain and softer ground, no arena), dressage competition in November.

Rockley were one of 2 track rehabs we had for a long time and posted a lot, they’ve had a few quiet years but recently seem to have reopened.
