lameness

Just a question what would you do? My gelding was sound on Monday before being shod. Then that evening he was lame on the turn Farrier came back out today and removed nail hoof tested him and found nothing. Would you wait a couple of days to see if it improves or let the vet check him tomorrow? Bute ??Any suggestions greatly recieved....

Horse at our yard is a bit sensitive when just shod and owner gives it a bute afterwards. Usually settles down after a few days. Shoes are a bit tight when first on for a couple of weeks Farrier tells us, it may be that your horse feels it more than others.

Minnie went lame once when sis in law still had her and she had nail bind...farrier came straight back out that day to sort her out and it did thankfully...

some horse's do feel bit sore after new shoes...so hope that he gets better
