hiya, I currently feed a fat native a bowl (as in a little cereal type bowl) of fast fibre with biotin and superflex.

am thinking of using lami light.
is this good for fat ponies? he is currently lame...suspected laminitis and cushings. would like to add this lami light to his fast fibre, which would give him all his vits/mins, and it would mean i wouldnt have to feed biotin. would also like to start naff cushinaze.

he is 14hh so 400g per day...how long would this last x
reviews on anything and advice very welcome thanks :) x

Hi,
I fed both the blue chip one and the topspec version (Anti lam and lami light, cant remeber which company does which) to my DDs pony when she was very overweight. we bought her when she weighed 370 kilos! shes a very fine 13.1hh welsh B and she got lami straight away (we think the weight and the stress of moving triggered it) we got her down to 300kg and fed this for over 18 months no problem, she recovered really well and has never had lami since. I have moved her off it now and she has topchop lite with a topspec all in one suppliment as her weight is good and the suppliment gives her what she needs. the only thing I add is a bit of speedi beet in winter, and its just a slop. She also had fast fibre last winter when she was on box rest for an injury, she loved it and didnt put weight on whilst on box rest. :)

My friend used to feed her good doer cob the bluechip lami light but has since changed to the spillers version after discovering that is is essentially exactly the same feed but cheaper. Good luck, hope he's feeling better soon x

For cushings, I found a supplement called No Moody No by pegasus to be better. Its a 1:2 strength tincture of Vitex agnus-castus and seems to help my cob.

I found cushinaze expensive and didn't notice any difference with it.

You can get No moody No off Amazon for £29.95 (free P&P) in 1Lt bottles, I have to feed 20ml a day to see a difference, so it lasts me about 50 days.
Good luck with your horse, hope you find something that works for him. :)
