My old girl has just had a very slight bout of laminitis (Tuesday). She had tlc frog supports on from Wednesday and she walked out normally with them on straight away. She now seems fine with or without so do I put them back on or not? She's still on box rest with a wander round the yard when I'm mucking out morn and night. Pulses still present but less. Slight resentment if I hit the sole on one side of one foot but that's all.

Ta!

Yes, check with your vet.

My understanding FWIW is the hoof needs support at least as long as there is any inflammation present. This is to try and prevent forces that cause further lamina separation and sinking and or rotation.

This /\ Check with the vet but I would be wary taking supports off so soon, horses can hide pain well because of their prey instincts, without wanting to sound condescending here. Hope your horse continues well in their recovery

To add, I meant support of the bony column ie. base (sole/frog) of hoof. That is my current understanding anyway.
