This is it, the vets said to me, you can Bute him, he can have acp, starvation, box rest, polticing, round and round in circles but you know what he'll never be 'better'. For him it was leading no where it would to continue for the rest of his natural life, at 27 he had a good happy innings he would have no clue why these were happening to him. My vets were brilliant.
Sounds like your mare is a clever lady who may yet know what's good for her.But I personally have never liked to see horses restricted from natural horsey life 24/7, unless there lives are fulfilling in other ways, as retired oaps they deserve to be horses don't they. Xxx
