Laminitis revolution.. programme tonight

David Rendle was guest speaker at a laminitis and cushings clinic I attended a few weeks ago that was held by our local equine practice, again under the 'Talk About Laminitis' initiative. Really interesting and informative stuff, worth taking part in.

Grr!! really wanted to see this as I currently have a pony in a stable with laminitis, but I could not get on. It just kept saying content currently not available. How can I see this at some other time? anyone know?

It says in the help section that an archive will be available in 24 hours.

It was good although some of what is being said was known a few years ago and what mainly the BFT have been banging on about for years.

So, very good and glad message is being broadcasted. Needs to be broadcasted wider IMO. The struggle between vets and the showring was a very interesting remark! The vet even compared it to cruelty!

I hope judges were watching this and felt the full wrath of his remark. It was so very true! Same as the comment about owners being chastised by fellow liveries because their ponies are at the correct weight and are deemed to be 'too skinny'. I endured those comments all last summer with my cushings pony!

Have a few copies of the slides to shove up their fat arses!! :D

We had this when trying to keep our two slim whilst at a livery yard for the summer. Another livery with a grossly overweight pony complained to everyone that my daughter was being cruel and starving our two!
Good to see he was quite outspoken and forceful about the condition judges want in show horses.

I was a bit disappointed that they didn't go into the other causes, i.e, stress, concussive and toxic lami. I would like to know more about those conditions, but overall very interesting.

:D i thought it was really interesting as i have a cushings horse that has not had laminitis(fingers crossed) so like to know as much as possible..

they said at the end that the wholething will be available to watch after 24 hours and you just need to go into www.talkaboutlaminitis.co.uk and click on the link, well worth a look...

Thanks for the link to the slides Shadeyoak, I wasn't able to watch the online program because my mum was watching the telly - volume whacked up loud!
