Horse come in this morning with laminitis.Have been soooo careful about restricting access to grass, on grass for 4 hours during day and in bareish paddock rest of time. The long grass is green on top and like dry straw underneath so havent been too worried. Never had a problem before so assume this last 3 or 4 wet days have done something. Horse hates being in but will jump over fence to good grass if she gets tempted enough. Was hoping not to have to get in for at least a couple of months, now had to bring friend in as well for company (who will also not be amused ). WInter plans already in chaos!

It is a danger zone at the moment. It is wet but still warm so the grass is still do it's Autumn flush. If you have a smart or android phone i have found the Laminitis App very useful and at the moment it is showing off the scale for risk.

September is one of the worsed months for Laminitis :( Mine are in all day and have been since April, I daren't let them out before 5/6pm. They wont be going out 24/7 until it drops below 5 degrees even then I'll still be strip grazing............call me paranoid!

Hope your horse is ok
