i know they say dont turn out on frosty grass but can you turn out on a dull frosty day as i know when the sun is out that what brings the fructans out in to the grass or are they n ot allowed out at all? and what about snow are they allowed out then or not?

If your horse is laminitic, then I would not take the risk on dull or sunny frosted grass - switch to overnight turnout

No problems in snow - both our lamis get out to play in the snow.

it is when the grass gets sunlight after being frosted that it has highest fructans - but you are right also babybells that ingestion of frosty grass can cause a digestive upset leading to laminitis in some sensitive horses.
It depends how sensitive they are.

Ingestion of frosty grass/ hay etc can also lead to colic in some cases.

Don't you just love winter!!?
