Can laminitis occur in just one foot?
Am totally paranoid as horse had joints medicated yesterday. Vet warned me that could get laminitis up to a week after this.
He currently on 48hr box rest. Doesn't look lame when led him outside today to muck out and standing sqarely. Has slight heat in one front foot on sole and up hoof wall. A small brown patch on sole has appeared. He doesn't seem to be int pain on it.
Had instructor look at it and feel it and she said to keep close eye on it but didn't think was laminitis however I am still very worried.
Am I worrying for nothing?

What is he eating?

And technically, if it is metabolically induced, it should affect all four - however I'm certain is affects my pony differently in each foot. One fore is particularly "prone".

It could well be an abcess too if there is anything going on - I found on box rest that a quick five- ten min stroll or free scho bought the what back down again - sometimes they are just standing for too long without moving :)

Thanks for that reply. He is on a small net of haylage mixed with barley straw, one in afternoon and one in evening. Has handful of chaff, small spoon of veteran vitality soaked in morning and same at night with supplements in. Can be turned out from tommorow but am worried he will gorge himself on grass so going to restrict his turnout for a few days and gradually build it up.
