This is the 1st Spring/Summer I will have had my 3 year old cob mare, heard loads of horror stories. How do I go about avoiding Laminintis, any tips or advice greatly appreciated.

Dont put anything in that you or the horse have no intention of taking out.
80% fibre (first/late cut hay) and spring water is a good place to start.
