Lancelot is gone.

I am so sorry - I also, don't know what to say except that you must treasure those memories of your lovely boy and he was doing something that he loved.

Isnt it strange. I have shed a few tears over other peoples horses but never imagined that my poor boy would be the subject of such a sad posting,I am grateful for the kindness shown to my poor lad.

I am so, so very sorry to hear of what happened. Lance was such a dude and made a big impression on all who met him. Your bond was so obvious to see.

Gosh reading this post has brought me to tears! I feel like I have missed out in not knowing Lance. However, that said, it is clearly evident that those who did know him had their lives greatly enriched!! RIP Lancelot, not all horses are as lucky as you were to have so many admirers and so much love. You've left a big hole in many lives, but none more so than Mike's.

That's the key. A horse could choose no better way. Clearly he had a terrific life he loved with you. Unfortunately, now it's just you who has to bear the heartache. But, though I don't know you, I'm sure you'd have it no other way. Greatest respects to Lancelot, and hugs and strength to you xxx

Completely echo this. I don't know you, yet I feel I have missed out too. He sounds like he was an amazing horse who left many, many fantastic memories with you and others. Terribly sad, my heart goes out to you. R.I.P. Lancelot. x
 
You are all such kind wonderfull people., please forgive me but I am going to try to get some sleep. It will be easier for knowing that I was not alone in loving and respecting my Lance.I have read every kind thought you have expressed, and even if I have not acknowledged it directly I am deeply gratefull, Mike von Gerard
 
Echoing what two posters who also didn't know Lance personally have said above.

He was obviously a huge character and much loved by those who knew him, but most especially by you Mike. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so so so sorry. We adored Lance, I can't imagine how you are feeling right now. If there is ANYTHING I can do please give me a buzz. He was really an amazing horse and I'm sure the draghunt won't be the same without him bumbling along with them.
