Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials

I'm really interested in volunteering at Burghley this year, I asked a few people about it and everyone has said that they like it if you have had some experience helping at some smaller events.
Can anyone suggest some good ones to go for? Or have even volunteered at Burghley themselves?

Have a look at the BE calendar, work out what's near to you - Stratford Hills, Little Downham, Isleham, Gt Witchingham - spring to mind and contact the organisers of those events to get some experience.

Don't expect to get put within sight of a fence at Burghley though, it's VERY sought after!

You could follow British Eventing Volunteers on Facebook or @BEVolunteers on Twitter. They list volunteer training and opportunites for BE events.

I have been helping at Burghley as a fence steward for the last 10 years....its something that you get 'invited' to do by someone who already volunteers and if there is a shortage, and then re-invited every year. We are expected to help at other BE events during the year.

Blenheim seems more open with its volunteers and it is a great event.
