What are the chances of a 8hh randy shetland stallion succesfully covering a 14.3hh tarty mare? feeling a bit sick atm ! The hedges were all cut along the boundary of the field, and the horrid creature managed to get from next door field to our field through the middle of the barbed wire in the hedge. Found it following my buckskin mare like a shadow and squealing, she was just happily letting him stay next to her. I know it's unlikely, and he's never managed to cover the 10hh Shetland mare next door, but I've heard of stranger things and it could be possible she lay down. He's always tried to get to her since she moved to the yard about 3 years ago but never managed until now.
I've heard you can get an injection to re-absorb a potential foal , anyone know the cost or side effects of this ? Would you think it was worth it? I really don't want a shetland x foal.. and I'd never dream of breeding from my mare anyway as she is not the best put together and can be a cow
