Managed to stay on 2 severe swerve spooks - literally hanging out side of saddle - NO horse underneath me:), then she gets me with the third and i come straight off down the shoulder on me head. Think i got kicked in the thigh for it too, bloody sore!:( Thank go for the rain we've had lately!!!:p
Just looking for sympathy, but please don't shout, ive got a banging headache.....:o

***whispers*** go to A&E if you start feeling sick or dizzy or get blurred vision
Huge sympathy!!
Well done for sticking the first two :D

I did this on Sunday, pony decided a handstand was appropriate to tell me how excited she was!

Like others said get to a&e if feel sick/dizzy, I didn't and felt rather rough til yesterday (so couldn't have been to bad!) still have the headache and my neck and shoulder are killing!

Get the deep heat spray, yes it stinks but I sprayed it all over shoulder and neck last night and it really did work....til I woke up this morning anyway!! Long bath with radox or similar!

And hope you feel better soon xx

cant have a bath - the rayburns broken!!!!
couldnt find my deep heat anywhere today and didnt really fancy risking driving into town to get some more! will try bribing someone to go in tomorrow for me! My shoulders, neck and back are gonna be SORE tomorrow too, really seizing up already. i landed righ on the top of my head, i can feel the sore spot and the mud on my hat!!!:o

"Whisper".have a hot bath, with a whisky mac and a few asprin?

now what a good idea......!!;)

talking to OH (quietly!) who was on the 'naughty' horse upsides me (who incidently didnt bat an eyelid with the dog), he said i landed upside down and back to front and he was CONVINCED by the way i rolled over my own head that it was a broken neck and air ambulance job. Feeling slightly lucky now! :o

Sending you loads of sympathy, very quietly, I know how you feel!
Just a word of warning though, I didn't go to hospital, I thought I was fine after the initial headache and bruising had gone BUT 3 months down the line I was taken to hospital after a fainting episode at work (colleagues though I was having a heart attack) and a trapped nerve was diagnosed. The X-rays showed a small bony spur on my spine. I have had to have 3 months of physio, which cost a fortune as the NHS waiting list is 10 weeks.
My accident was at the beginning of February and I'm really only just right now. Oh and you will invest in a new hat, won't you?

Oh dear nasty, maybe a new hat in order now too? Anti inflams and whisky should help, hope you're not tooooo sore 2moz - whispered!

Hey, I fell on my head in June and my hat came off (was on correctly but had a faulty catch) I was eventing at the time. I got back on and completed the course and then drove home 2 hours. Drank wine and had a good weekend until Monday when I could not string my sentences together and was completely lalaand could not stay awake! Went to A&E. They told me the ONLY way to get better was to rest. (I have 5 horses and a livery yard to run) I had NO choice so took it easy for the rest of the week....no wine either and felt ok by Friday...so drove the car and went teaching, had a glass of wine at night..result......could not get out of bed on the saturday morning! This scared me so I went back to trying to do very little and rest. I also had whiplash as well as consussion. It was six weeks before I rode again properly. Even now I have trouble sleeping and have a pounding in my ears.
So please go to A&E and do what they say....take it as easy as you can or you will not get better soon! :)

yep, im new hat shopping tomorrow while the 80 mile an hour winds and rain lash at the windows....obviously im not riding OR mucking out tomorow.....great excuse to stay inside!!!! ;)

Scary stuff.
Take care of yourself and enjoy the whisky... but after reading about Jeni's episode perhaps not too much!
Get your OH to give you a massage :)

Poor you, its horrid landing on your head. Probably be best to leave the hat shopping for a couple of days if possible after a bang on the head might make your head worse trying on loads of hats, I used to fit hats and some will give a headache to a head that hasn't been landed on so wouldn't want your poorly head to feel worse. Get well soon x
