Landing on the Correct Leg...

Me and my boy have a real problem with landing on the wrong leg after a jump, whatever height, and it happens probably 80% of the time. I've tried everything I can think of - looking the right direction, putting more weight in that stirrup (but not too much to over balance him), steering in mid-air etc, but nothing works. He even does it over poles! Any ideas?

Lunge him over jumps to get him to get correct leg, if he gets wrong leg on the lunge he'll trip! So he'll learn to get the right leg. Then get on him whilst being lunged and try and see if he does it right. Start off small build it up! Not actually tried this but sounds like a good idea .. might be wrong feel free to correct me!

Does it happen equally on either rein, or is he favouring landing on one leg?

Are you straight over a fence, or are you more to one side?

I'd look at those, and then apply what you are already doing with those 2 things in mind too...
