Landrover Discovery TD5 .....

I've had mine 4 years. Best car i've ever had. I don't look after it very well, its always filthy, but i do have it serviced regularly. I'ts never let me down, does about 35 to the gallon and tows well. I would defo recommend!

Flissy_mare .... Not helping at all

Cazza525 .... We have a 300tdi series 98 .... and its been great apart from the broken window (hubbie was cutting the grass, stone flew up and smashed driver door window

)

Its never let us down at all , towed 6 hour journey and back again not a problem, Actually not bad on the fuel for a 4x4 .

Just bought a td5 2001 ...... Very clean jeep, full leather etc , automatic , lasted 1.5 days

. Hubbie thinks the big end is away in it or worst case scenario engine has sh1t itself

.

Perhaps thats where I am going wrong .... Have watched it and been very careful with it , making sure boots are clean etc etc .... Whereas poor old larry (300 series) was abused and dirty and hes still going

I've had mine almost 2 years now (3rd disco, but first TD5) and it's been fine. Small things but nothing serious until now and it needs a new clutch, but at 10 years old I expect that not entirely unexpected! As with all the other two disco's small non mechanical stuff but generally pretty good and just traded in when they got very old and before I suspected they'd need lots of £££ spent on them.

I have a 300TDi...I was advised against the Td5 by several members for mainly engine troubles. A friend has got one and the air suspension is dodgy....it kind of sits down when its turned off!!
.......mines very old but in good nick (saying that, the exhaust fell off this morning

) but it had been needing a new one.....

Our old one had the same problem with the air suspension but apart from that never let us down and I'm ashamed to say we ignored its droopy bottom! Now have an auto TD5, had for 3 years now, (late 2 series) and touch wood its only been in for regular services and mots....there, that'll be the kiss of death!
