What large tack stores are there in the country? Any that are worth the trip to?
I am missing out on YHL this year due to other plans.... boooo !! But really don't want to miss out on the shopping.
I am in Essex so Ingatestone Saddlery is literally round the corner to me, so to me it is convenient and its great that it is there
but looking for some other shops which maybe stock different brands / things etc.

Any recommendations? Robinsons/ Derby house? I really don't know of any others!

Thanks :)

rideaway , they have a website ( www.rideaway.co.uk ) ,but staff at the store are very experienced ,but not pushy. and a great selection of all goods . its 5 miles from York so a long journey for you, but make a weekend of it when there is a race meeting on , plus York is a lovely city to visit .

RB Equestrian near Milton Keynes is good, its not huge but the range of stuff is good and range from cheap to classy, ditto Tower Farm saddlers which is about 40 mins from RB and is near Rugby. Horseatack is about ten mins from RB, not such a great range but is quite a large shop. I often go to all of those in a day. H

Harley Equestrian is in the same area and they have a wonderful 'old fashioned good service' mentality.

There is also a large tack shop called Poundon Equestrian not far away which is supposed to be very good. None of them are near the size of Ingatestone apart from Horseatack but that has an awful lot of empty floor area so isn't the best stocked.

They are all in striking distance of Whittlebury Hall and Silverstone so worth making a weekend of!

Unfortunately Derby House is mail order only now, the shop closed some months ago, and Robinsons isn't worth such a long trip. :(
