Large hay bales

Does anyone know how long an average big bale of hay would last for 2 large ponies? Thanks

A big bale of hay is the equivalent size of approx 10 small bales, so, depending on how much you are feeding, one should last you quite a few weeks.

At least 6 weeks for ponies if they are 4 foot by 4 foot round bales

Six weeks or a month for slightly smaller ones.

Our girl is on box rest so is having quite alot of hay, it took her 3 wks to munch through a round bale.

With some grazing, my Highlands eat an average of half a small bale of hay a day. One 4x4 = approx. 10 - 12 small bales. Looks as if we all agree.

In winter when a bale is put in the field for them it lasts my 3 large ponies a week to 10 days.
