large haylage bale life span

In colder weather mine easily last 2 weeks (would go longer but that's how long it takes for the horses to eat through it!) in warmer weather, like now ish, I'd not want to leave it longer than about 10 days....in summer heat I'd want it gone in less than a week.

only recently bought it (last week) but don't think i'll need it now the grass is coming thru so wondering if it will keep until about october/ november when i'll probably need it again so thats nearly 9 months...

I am currently using square bale haylage that I had made 3 years ago for sheep and horses it has kept very well and although it probably has little nutritional value all the stock look well on it and seem to enjoy it .It will need checking for holes on a regular basis and resealed asap if it is holed .

lol trouble in the winter it only lasted us 7 days max (nothing to do with it lasting just greedy horses!!)
Excellent, it wont go to waste then, will definately keep an eye on it for holes tho
thanks everyone.

Two years if unholed. This time of year you heve to watch for the birds trying to get at the inner string to make nests, and mice. I try and check mine regularly and seal if holed with gaffer tape.
