large lumps caused by cleg fly ?

Missy has come out it in large vile lumps, they range in size, some the size of my hand, I'm presuming its a reaction to fly bites ? What kind of treatment could I give her ? I have been using naff off fly repellant and just smothering her in sudocrem . Any advice ?

Sounds like its fly bites to me. Bl**dy horse flies are terrible at the moment. You may have to speak to your vet about antihistamines?

I use anthisan ( an antihistamine cream for people) and it seems to help.

My mare gets this sort of reaction to bites too. I don't actually treat the bites once they have happened, but to prevent her getting bitten in the first place I have found Leovet Power Phaser to be the most effective repellent.
