Never had one, but knew one - he was wonderful, a fantastic working dog, but brilliant family pet too.

I would love to have one in the future, but with a Border Collie and a Doberman, I think I have got enough to cope with at the moment!

I have read the odd article about Munsterlanders and they really do sound like super dogs - I am surprised we don't see more of them in the shooting field.

I've got one, I've got one!!!!! My friend has his brother, Chaos, and a local farmer has another brother, Billy. Bryn (yes, Welsh name for a German dog!) is eighteen months old and the thickest, most stupid dog ever - but we love him! Even now, it takes a couple of minutes for him to register "Sit!" (and does your one make that weird noise? Our one makes that noise when you give him commands - and at other times, too!). We had him "snipped" about six months ago and he has become the most lovable dog ever. Having three Springers and a Golden Retriever, too, all being very sharp and easy to train, Bryn is a bit like hard work! But, like I said, we love him like mad and he goes most places with me in the back of my car (although he can get a bit fretful without his beloved "Auntie Lottie" - our two year old Golden Retriever!). My mum's in a residential care home and everyone loves him when I take him in to visit -I actually had a carer ask whether he was a Large Munsterlander....nearly fell over!

Sadly, most people tend to ask what sort of cross breed he is - he's even been called a "springer on stilts". Can't understand why we don't see more of this breed.
