I have a horse that I want to show in riding horse classes. He has a beautiful small head and im wanting show bridle for him but im unsure as to the thickness of the head piece and noseband etc?

Can you borrow some different widths to try on and see what looks best?

Have you got a of him in his current bridle?

He fits very nicely into a cob sized bridle, even though he is 16.2hh. Friends just have everyday/dressage bridles so not really the sort of thing im after. I have always shown hunters in chunky bridles with big nosebands so I dont have anything that compliments his head..

I just bought my 16.2hh fine headed TB (takes a cob size bridle) a Sabre Premier Show Weymouth Bridle and added in my own noseband and browband as its geared towards the finer headed horse. It's lovely and a really good investment as Sabre is top notch IMO.

I would go for a raised square type of bridle - like this one

horse in pic would be a large riding horse :)

Don't make the msitake of going to fine with the leatherwork. Riding horses are meant to be workmanlike so need a reasonable bridle to go with them.

Cannot find a decent photo so having to use this one -

Horse nearest the camera is an ex racer dressed as a riding horse.
Next one in is a cob, then another riding horse with a slightly narrower noseband than the first riding horse, then another cob.
All different weight bridles taking into account what suits the head of the horse.
But nothing terribly fine.
