large swelling eeeek help

eeek, just been to feed my pony and he had a hugeeee swelling on his left tummy about 30cm long and 5cm wide going from the inside on his back leg/sheath area to underside of his tummy:S its not rock hard but not really squishy and it doesnt seem to be attached as i can get my fingers sort of around it and move it, its not painful either as far as i can tell anyway, neither is it warm to touch, and there are no apparent cuts or anything :S does anybody know what it might be? iv given him soem antihistamines (spelling?:S) to try get hte swelling down

Sounds like a mass of fly bites that have swollen up.

i think i have discovered what it is... a tick :S found it right up inside his leg grrrrr , annoyignly id seen it last night but as it was dark had not realised what it was ! hopefully it will get better now iv got it out
