I just wanted to share my excitement, as we scanned St.Pr.St. Show Hit this morning and she is in foal to Moorlands Totilas! She is such a good a girl and went first time bless her. More info at the Larkshillstud website!
so we have 5 foals due in 2011:

Pr.St. Machita (Samarant/ Florestan) x Rohdiamant due 28 January 2011
Zouelle (Special D / Equador) x Wynton due 5th April 2011
Rheindayla (E.H Hohenstein/ Itaxerxes)x Sarkozy due 23rd April 2011
Libitina x ( Beatos / Hill Trail xx) Dimaggio due 29 April 2011
St.Pr.St. Show Hit ( Showstar / Potsdam) x Totilas due 28 May 2011

and just waiting to hear on the last one Aika (Furst Heinrich /Rubinstein) x De Niro!

Hope to see some of you at the futuities, we are going to the first Solihull and to keysoe! And I will come and watch some of the others too!

How exciting for you! I was having a peek on your website just the other day and have to say, all your mares and foals are stunning! Hope it all goes well for you. Will the resulting foal be a keeper of for sale?

Congratulations! So exciting x

It will be lovely to see if he stamps his stock so I will be watching avidly next May/June for the first arrivals :D (not that I will ever have a mare with the breeding to use him but I can dream :D:D)

Good luck.

However a word of caution. Totilas was only accepted by the KWPN this last year because of his performances. He was previously rejected as he didn't fit the KWPN profile. There are no current offspring that prove that he passes this on and it will be a good while before we see if it is hereditary.
Don't get me wrong I think he is fantastic and boy can he move but it is ridiculous what they are charging for him. Talk about milking the market.

In any case good luck and I hope you prove me wrong. Am not scared to admit it when I'm wrong.

Congratulations! I can't wait to see what your mare produces. She's had super offspring in the past. I wonder how her Totilas baby will match up? :)

In a way I agree with this (especially having seen videos of Totilas as a 5-year-old....really nothing special in terms of movement!); however there is no question about his fabulous temperament and his bloodlines are fab (Gribaldi really does have the most outstanding progeny). Plus he is being selected for top class mares only so I am sure the foals will be stunning!

Many congratulations Larkshill, when I went to buy my foals a few weeks ago the breeder had just had her mare scanned in foal to Totilas, so I know how you feel :D

Funnily enough, I was just saying to my dad last night how exciting it must be to be one of those with a mare in foal to him. Lucky you, can't wait to see the foal!
