Kind of the last update to my previous "dangerous horse" posts. My friend has gone through every possible route and consulted everyone she can in regards to her horses back and feet probs, and has been advised the most humane thing would be to have her horse PTS.

She has asked me if anyone on here could recommend anyone who does cremation and individual ashes in the South, Wiltshire direction. Any good/bad experiences very much appreciated as she obviously wants everything to be as pain free as possible in this heartbreaking time.

Many thanks.

Sorry to hear your friend can't do any more for the horse.
I'm in Dorset and I'm sure my friend used a company from Suffolk when her pony was pts recently. She says he was sympathetic and very professional. They're called the Horse Cremation Service. Pm me for the numbers if you want to.

I am so, so sorry to read this, please pass my sympathy on to her

It sounds like thy have had a great time in the past 3 years though, until recently, and she'll just have to cherish that.

From my own experience I would go with the bullet every time, at the hands of a huntsman and not a vet.
Arthur Duckett does cremation, though he is Somerset based and I am not sure how far he travels. Would highly recommend him.

Thanks everyone. Bounty, that isnt the first time his name has come up, will recommend him to her. Will also pass other recommendations.

Thanks for your thoughts, will pass them on.

I've only just read this as I haven't been on here for ages. Please tell your friend how sorry I am that she and her horse are now at the end of the road - I know how she feels.

I used Peaceful Pets in Kings Lynn when I had my old boy PTS, and I can't recommend them highly enough. They were compassionate and caring, and very professional. It made the whole process a little more bearable. I don't know if they travel as far as Wiltshire, but they may know of someone in the area if they don't.
