Last minute makeshift poll guard??

Hello,
My horse and I are moving to the Uk from the Channel Islands today and I've been round every tack shop in the island to try and find a poll guard - but nowhere has one!
Any ideas for a make shift effort?? I completely forgot to buy one and my horse is prone to throwing his head up if he gets a bit upset... and he's due to be in the box for several hours...
All help gratefuly recieved at this point (or just tell me I'm being ridiculous which is equally acceptable!!)

Piece of foam - chair cushion that you were planning to leave behind?!!! - fastened to headpiece of headcollar with bandage tape.
Looks horrible, works a treat!

One of the big sponges used for bathing - again attach to headcollar

That grey tube foam stuff that insulates - goes round pipes outside or in your garage etc to stop them freezing.

Just put it round your headcollar and tape it on.

Thank you all!! He'll just have to look a bit of a plank with sponge on his head but better that than a broken nag!
