Probably should be in gallery or breeding but after 2 hours last night and 2 hours this morning trying to get on here... it was going in the first place I could stick it before the 404 Error could eat it!!!

A picture story of last night…

A last photo for a while of the terrible trio together…

So after yesterdays frantic last minute phoning, Asti is wrapped in her lovely pink gear and trailered over to near Whitby… with me virtually pooping myself as horrendous fog descended and I was towing my precious spacehopper over a notoriously accident prone moor road.

Anyway, got there in one piece, unloaded, and whilst I turned the trailer round, Asti was making friends with the stud owner and the lad that rides the stallion. Farrier arrived, shoes were off and before we knew it Asti was out in a paddock with a friendly coloured cob mare and was munching within seconds!

So we went to explore and see the latest baby… the cuteness is unbelieveable – I nearly had this one in the trailer to come home, how can I wait a year???

This one shows their first foal off the stallion in the background there, now 3, who they are just about to start…

We went to see the stallion as well, and he was just as friendly as last time, he was licking my hand and then scraping it with his teeth when he thought I wasn’t looking – which is just what Asti does, and I have definitely chosen the right stallion, though the black Hanoverian they have is just gorgeous, but he’s only a novice, has just covered his first mare – one of their own. Didn’t get a pic but I will next time!

So we went back to see Asti, fed her some treats out of my pocket, and within seconds, this was my view of my beloved pony…”See ya!”

Charming!!! I guess she’s happy to be on holiday! No nookie yet, will see what happens today and if I get a phone call saying she is in season.

So we went home to be greeted by lots of racket from Ivy, as she knows when Asti goes out in the trailer, she knows she comes back in the trailer… but this time… no Asti. Poor Ivy was gutted!

“So… where’s the orange one?”

“No, I’m not going to be distracted by food, where is Auntie Asti?”

“Can’t see her…”

“Well I might have a sweetie, need the energy for a search…”
080607astiatstud010.jpg

“Asti!!! Are you over here? No?”
080607astiatstud013.jpg

“Not here either…”

“WHERE IS SHE????”

“What, you’re asking me? Am I bovvered? Really, do I look bovvered?”

I'm in the exact same position as you, although my mare is running with her stallion as she's nervous to cover. Let's hope luck is on both our sides, 11 months from now we could both be pulling our hair out and going mad with lack of sleep

A 'ginger spacehopper' baby? Now that WILL be something!

How nice that Asti glanced round & thought 'Yep, this'll do.....you can go now mum!'
Be awful if you'd have had to have driven off through the fog with her charging up & down shrieking!
