I have always posted about pops in her so it kind of fits that her last post should be in here to, also Im sure I would be mobbed in TR.

My horse of a lifetime that took me from being scared to jump 2ft to jumping 1.20SJ and 1m x-c has gone to horsy heaven she had arthritis that just would not respond to treatment and was lame on 3 legs with no hope of managing her pain. We have had the most amazing 5 years, living most of my horsy dreams, she hated dressage and knew how to drive me crazy but was the sweetest most affectionate mare and Ill never forget her. The vet joked I could write a veterinary book with all her ailments, but I would love to have had longer with her but I couldnt watch her waste away in the field.

Please no negative comments this was the hardest decision I have ever made, I'm going to have a few months horse free and go from there..........

I am so sorry to hear this. It looks like you had an amazing time with her & when the time was right you repayed her with the greatest kindness x
Thoughts to you x

So sorry to hear this very sad news. You tried your best for her and you looked after her till the end you should take comfort from that. Try and focus on all the happy times you had together it will make the pain ease slightly. Huge hugs xx

RIP Poppy. You did what was best for her, and you had the most amazing time together. Hope you're ok.

Thank you all the vet made the descion much easier but before is much harder than after, Its just going to be wierd not having a horse to worry about, Im going to give it a couple of weeks then I have a host of horses that have been offered to me to ride, so Im going to do that for 5/6 months then look for a youngster, as much as it hurts I cant help but think about my next equine partner.

What a beautiful girl she was. You can see what a great partnership you had. You kept her comfortable to her end, and that's all we can do for our wonderful animals.

So sorry - she looked absolutely fantastic, and was clearly very much loved and cared for

I'm so sorry for your loss, it looks like she was the most amazing horse for you. Well done for being brave and paying her back for all the good times by making the right decision. Best of luck in your horse endeavours in the future x

So very sad to hear this, but as others have said you have done the kindest thing for her. I now this is no comfort at the moment but in the future you will understand.

Sad for you , but horses that are PTS with the family they worked and lived with are truely blessed , take a look at the £20 Tb thread in TR.
You will always remember that special time you had together.
