Just a bit of fun.

What was the last 'one way' conversation that you had with your horse, what did you say?

Last night while grooming lordship, I told him that he was a fat thing, your underworked, your too blooming hairy and you need some new shoes.

Basically I told him he was a complete mess

, to which he replied with the usual ....(no comment) but he glanced round at all the hair I was shedding from his coat and gave a look that said it all...WHAT EVER! then turned back and snatched a mouth full of hay and carried on chomping, typical male I thought.

Thankfully horses can't talk but I do think some more than others have a wardrobe of expressions that let you know how they feel about things, some being more expressionate (if that's a word?) than others I think.

And if you horse could reply to the usual things you say, what do you think they would respond with which reflects their character?

I told her I'd be back after work to put her rug back on, and I was off to earn some money to pay for her new shoes!

Every Thursday we have the same conversation, as I finish work at three on Fridays, so I always remind her I'll be early tomorrow and she's to be by the gate - sometimes it actually works!

My mare was a tiny bit stressed about her friend going out, she was obviously mulling it over prior to letting out an inane whinny, as I walked past I said
"don't try to think FarFar, it will be too much for you"
She looked very hurt.

My Pony didn't think I would notice 344kgs of Fur scrurrying off to the feedroom. When I shouted "I don't think so" he very clearly gave me the "up yours" look and just carried on.
How charming.

"I'm going to have to bring the flasks up and tub that tonight, aren't I?"
Definitely got the "WhatEVER" response, she was eating!

I told Monty that he was a gorgeous shnozzle bum baby and that I love him lots and lots and lots! (same thing I say every night). He sighed loudly and I swear to god he rolled his eyes.

I told Zoomy that she has a pony nose and donkey ears. She replied 'no hablo ingles' since she is Argentinian and doesn't understand a word I say.

Nite Wara (she's tara), See u tomoro! Always seem to get almost a throat clear off her, which is very sweet! This noise is always nicely timed for most things I say to her! guess she's just got used to me talking to her over the years!

I told Lucas he was becoming very grown up and clever (we've just backed him and he's going VERY well)... to which I think he would've replied - well thank you I am very grown up...

I told river I loved him very much and then proceeded to discuss with him my break up with bf (who uttered the unforgivable words of I resent River for getting sick and taking up so much of your time)... to which he would've replied (and I swear he did) I love you too and we're better off without that smelly man....

I LOVE my boys!!! (oh and I always wish them goodnight with a kiss on the nose!)

I told him just this morning that he is a grumpy bugger but I love him followed by lots of kisses (he put his ears back but let me lol)

I have full on conversations with Earl!

I believe last night the last thing I said to him was ' you're a very bad boy, now eat your dinner up'
grin.gif
to which he responded by trying to make a last ditch attempt to get out of his stable and get back to the field. He'd just been out in the field and was charging around like a loon cutting up YO's field

He was then so buzzed up when he came in, he didn't want his dinner. The only thing that was calming me down was me playing 'itches' with him. Itches is as the name suggests, I itch him all up his mane and wither. He loves it and pulls all sorts of faces! When he gets an itch now on his side, he'll have one little nip at it and then turn me as if to say, now you get it!

The very last thing I said was 'see you tomorrow baby'! He looked very annoyed that I was leaving him!

I'm quite mad!

I said that Mummy will see you tomorrow, and try and be a good girl!!!!!

What are we all like!!!!

Hmm...I think I was having a talk with mine about how while bending in canter circles is nice, it does need to be the correct bend, as we are not a motorcycle...then a bit later I was giving him two carrots and saying "off you go!"

I told Dec i would be back later as he is having his back done this evening.... and that this prob meant he would be having a few days off work!!!

They all always get a kiss and a polo before I leave.

I think its safe to say that we are all slightly mad then
grin.gif
, do any of you ever feel embarrassed talking to your horses though if someone is around? my YO is used to it but I'm sure he thinks to himself that I've totally lost the plot.

Do you think ladies talk more to their horses than men do?

Nipped to the yard this morning as I had a gift to drop off for a friends birthday and I saw that the flies were out again...

B was out, so I called her, she cantered up to me
laugh.gif
so I put her fly mask on, gave her a pat, some mints to her and her field buddy and told her she was a good girl that she should go and play and I would see her later !!!

I've just told mine, no, you can't come in, go and sunbathe. He replied with a grumpy face and stalked off looking very hard done by.

He's only been out for four hours!

Jane
