I think its safe to say that we are all slightly mad then
grin.gif
, do any of you ever feel embarrassed talking to your horses though if someone is around? my YO is used to it but I'm sure he thinks to himself that I've totally lost the plot.
crazy.gif

Do you think ladies talk more to their horses than men do?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think ladies talk more than men full stop !! And yes, we do talk to our horses because we respect them and who says they dont understand ??!!?? My mare actually "talks" back to me all the time now...
tongue.gif

I do have full conversation with my two but James is the one who listens and responds in his way....he tell you a few things from over the years!

However the last thing I told them this morning was, to each individually as I was taking off their hats in the field, was 'Now you have a nice day and be a good boy, love you lots'.....and they could probably recite it as its the same they get every morning!!!!

That I loved him
blush.gif
. I always tell him when I leave him for the day or night, and I think he'd tell me to stop embarrasing him in front of his mates, like when your mum kisses you at the school gates
grin.gif

[ QUOTE ]
I'm usually the last one to leave my yard so I give them all a feed then shout "Nite Ponies!!!" as I'm leaving!
laugh.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

I do this too - the whole yard gets a 'Goodnight Boys' just as I leave. I've never heard the only mare on the yard complain! Trouble is because I few of us leave at the same time, other liveries have caught on now too and whoever is last though the gate says it!!!!! So they are all as barking as me!

I said night to him, and told him he was my special boy even though I had just ridden another. I also told him that I'm going to get him all sorted next week when we go to the vets.
When I last saw my pony (Sunday) I told her she was my beautiful girlie as she wandered off into her field. (She's taken care of by a friend during the week.)

I talk to them non stop, they probably know more about it me now than I do! Our YM quite often thinks I'm talking to him!

haha love this topic! every night I tell her to be good and i will see her in the morning. this morning i put her out in her new fly rug (she's never had one before) and she looked at me as if to say "i cant believe you have put this on me mum, i look like a complete to**Er) so i said i know you look silly, but its for your own good. go out and play and be nice.
grin.gif
WE'RE ALL MAD AS EACH OTHER LOL
grin.gif

last night i told mine whilst riding him

'you can argue all you like but you can do this & you are going to , so if you just get on with it it will be alot easier for you as i am not giving up'

a few circles in trot in shoulder in later he decided that co-operation was indeed the best option & we went on to manage a couple of trot half pass , half pirouette round & half pass back

i shall be having stern words more often!!

"See you later baby, I'm going to make you a cake!"
(It's his birthday, so I'm making carrot cake
grin.gif
)

I talk to him a lot, it's quite good fun as he has a very expressive face with his googly eyes and satellite dish ears. Mum says he has eyebrows like Roger Moore - he once raised one at me - and I'm inclined to agree.

He gets insulted at least once a day, usually me calling him a big jessie for being scared of leaves or something ... he looks offended lol

I told mine hes going to have to remain strong for me because mummy is really going to need you to look after her for a few weeks and then i had a little cry.

Yup- about that!

I told him
"Don't look at me like that. I feel bad enough that you ran down to field as soon as you saw the car but you're not getting fed. You've had my last biscuit instead!!"

(To Darcy who is portly at the best of times)

The last conversation went along the lines of 'I've had a cr*p week at work and I'm handing in my notice. What do you think?' The answer was the usual one: 'Whatever! Just feed me, groom me occasionally, and bring on the spring grass!'
smirk.gif

At least that's what he looked as though he was saying!
smirk.gif
wink.gif
As a farewell, I always tell him I love him, much to OH's disgust.
grin.gif

BTW - I have handed in my notice. Now just waiting for the wotsit to hit the fan........
smirk.gif

I would actually say that my OH (male!!!!) is more soppy with the horses than I am. He has long conversations with his horse & is forever giving him kisses & hugs. The conversations normally involve how wonderful they both are and what they are planning on winning - its all very endless
crazy.gif

Oh & by the way my OH is a farmer
grin.gif

my dad always has these conversations with my horse.. he doesnt but he says he does to get me to work at school, as apparently my horse is always telling him that he wont have a rider that doesnt work, as my horse works hard so so should the rider
blush.gif

but i think i told my horse that i loved him eventhough he was a lazy sod... i often tell him hes a cr@p horse, which i then have to apologise for as i feel bad
blush.gif
but last thing i told him was that id bring some carrots for him- hes always wanting carrots and that id see him later to take him to a SJ lesson with one of our fave instructors... he loves that instrcutor as he gets us to jump big
tongue.gif

god im starnge
blush.gif

Got my youngster this morning for a nice groom and a couple of hours in.
I told him he was still a skank even after a long grooming session and asked him very nicely NOT to lay in his poo and rub his face in it.
shocked.gif

Dirty little sod...
love him loads though
smile.gif

I told Baz to be good and not damage himself in the field today.

Its his first day out after 3 months of box rest/controlled exercise but the vet scanned him and said he was good to go. He was booted to the max and had a full syringe of Sedalin so I don't think he was really bothered what I said to him!

Told my 3yr old RID filly who was "dead to the world" sunbathing laid flat out this morning that had she been born in the wild she wouldn't have lasted very long! She's probably still fast asleep now.

last thing i said to her last night was ,do you have to make such a bloody mess (she had slung her redigrass everywhere ) and first thing in the morning its usually, what the hell have you been doing in here!

I think my last comment to mine was "don't mind me!" as he proceeded to walk through me to get to his hay after having his dinner.

That I'd forgotten wat a twat he is when it comes to pulling his mane, nd then when i was trimming his whiskers afterwards i had to repetedly tell him not to eat the razor coz hes not invinceble, nd the look he gave me clearly said 'thats what u think'
laugh.gif

last thing i said to my boy, was how good he was and not like ponio at all
last thing i said to ponio is you dirty little mare, dont you dare come in looking like that again:)
i have full on conversations with my two, especially when out riding, or when im standing grooming and chatting away people always walk past and ask if i was talking to them!
also i cant help but laugh when i catch them doing something they know theyre not allowed to do, he gets the "oh sh*t its me mam" and pretends it was ponio

I told Genie to have a good day and I'd see her later when I turned her out this morning. Last thing I ever said to Mazzie was 'you're such a good girl' after she'd loaded straight away for the first time ever, only to be killed in a crash half an hour later. At least I said something nice to her.... I insult Genie quite regularly!

I told my boy who is a big wimp "Don't worry I won't let him hurt you" as I had to drag him through the gate this morning. The field bully was standing just the other side and he wasn't keen to go past him. He listened, but quite what I would do to stop a 17hh ISH horse being nasty to my 16.2hh ID I don't know!
It has its plusses though, if I'm turning them both out and I'm quick enough going back to get the bully after putting Archie out, he will chase him away from the muddy patch he loves to roll in and Archie stays a bit clearner!!

The last thing I told my horse was

"I love you... Goodbye"

That was 3 months ago
frown.gif
I wont see him until May, when I may be able to sneak 5 mins into a very rapid visit back to England.

I talk to his pictures, which I have all over the house, all the time... Does that make me nuttier than the rest of you?
